The Ice Queen - That’s what they call me. I know it. It’s because I’m a paramedic and very serious about my job. People think I don’t feel, but feeling is all I do. I left rural Pennsylvania because all I do is feel. 

Tragedy after tragedy. Like the one where my partner and I showed up to a call to see officers laughing at what happened to that poor girl… It was more than I could take. I left my home and didn’t look back.  

I fled all the way to Piper Falls. It’s a small town. No one knows me. All they know is I’m serious about my job. I’m the Ice Queen.

And then I meet him. It’s like he followed me. He makes my heart hurt and skip beats all at the same time. 

I have to walk away. I can’t reveal my past. I can’t make him relive it by telling him the truth…
